Help, Can DS have these. . . - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

DS is almost 4 months and has a miserable cold. I went to the store and bought,Triaminic Vapor Patch, Pedia Care Infant Drops (for cough), and Little Noses. I want to know if I can use these. I am going to call the Dr but he is not in yet and DS is just moaning/crying from being so uncomfortable. I could just cry looking at him. His eyes are watery, his nose is running and he is coughing and trying to breath through his nose. And I can not go to the Dr because we don't have insurance as Sept 30. My DH is trying to get us on his, but is having problems. Help me, Please.

My little guy had a bad cold at 3 months. We went to the doctor and he told us with his age we can't do too much but let it take it's course. He said we could use Little Noses...the saline drops ONLY not the Little Noses decongestant. He said we could also use a vaporizor hot or cold. I also gave him baths in the Johnsons Vapor bath. He said the little noses were completly safe and we could use them every 10 minutes if needed. I put a few drops in each nostril then waited a min. and suctioned it all out. The vaporizor helped alot...we got a "hot" one form Walmart. The vapor baths are nice too. The doctor said it would probably last a week or so...and it did!! I also gave him infant Tylenol and that seemed to help soothe him. Also....I put him to sleep in the Car Seat...this REALLY helped him sleep, and kept everything drained. my doctor say if he will take a bottle and eat normal
then no meds let it run its corse its bothering you more than him
if not eating pedia care infant drops are fine

Thank you so much. I talked to the Dr finally too. He said okay to Pedia Care and the vapor patches. I am going to give him a vapor bath tonight and
i have a vaporizer on by his bassinet. The vapor patches worked really well to stop his coughing.

my DS is also dealing with a cold and i got on here to see if other babies have been sick this little ( 4 months) and i'm suprised it seems alot of babies are getting sick lately...i've been doing the saline and sucktion thing in the nose...it makes me want to cry also looking at his poor soul....:-(
