anyone have a 7 month old? question about sitting up - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

hi all. i have a 7 1/2 month old, if i sit him up he sits forward and holds onto his legs or the ground but he will sit for awhile then get's his self to fall over and be on his stomach that is where he wants to be. anyway i go to sit him up again and help him and he just puts his head on the floor and moves his body like he is trying to get back on the floor, does any of your 7 month old's do this? he just doesnt want to sit for some reason.

even if i hold his body to make sure he stays sitting the head goes on the floor and he is trying to move.

I have an 8mth old, he was crawling before he could sit up all the way on his own(right before he turned 7mths). He did exactly the same thing. His doctor called it "tri-poding" and that it was normal until they have full balance. My hubby and I were just shocked that he could crawl before he could sit up. Now he sits on his own just fine and was no problem.
