How long before diaper rash goes away? - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

My baby boy has a diaper rash that I have been treating for 3 days. It looks much better and he's not crying as much anymore, but how long before its fully cured? Just want to know what to look for incase I need to contact the doctor.

I thinked that it really depends on the child and the type on onitment you are using. I took me some time to find the right stuff. Using Burts Bee's diaper rash onitment or Aquaphor is the two things i have found the best. I can usually have her rash cleared up with one of those by the next diaper or two.At the most usually by the next day.

I also found that Aquaphor was the best! Now if DS starts to get a little red I use it, and he's a cleared up by the next diaper change!

I really like Boudreaux Butt Paste. DS was having problems this morning and the A&D which normally does the job wasn't cutting it one good application and it's pretty clear . I put it on again at night for a few days because thier skin is still tender if it was bad.

Any of those will work, but if it hasn't gone away in a couple more days, he could have a yeast infection. I gave my son one from breast feeding him with an infected breast. I didn't know it at the time, as I was a new mother and new to breast feeding. Keep an eye on it and if it gets worst or doesn't go away, get him to the doctor.
