He never cried during this before!? - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

Ds is 7 months old, and for the past month or so, he cries and fusses when I change his diaper or clothes. He's perfectly healthy, no diaper rash or anything! Is this just a developmental thing- like- I don't have time to do this, mom!? Has anyone gone through this?

My DD (4 months old) also doesn't like having her nappy changed or being dressed. She's generally alright with her bottom half being dressed but doesn't like things going over her head and getting her arms through.

I think my DD is just being a little madam but I believe when they reach your babies age they do start to get frustrated at being made to lie on their backs to have a nappy change or get dressed because they want to be off playing or exploring something. I guess the only thing to do is try to distract him with a toy and get it done as quicky as possible.

Oh we are soooo there lol! My dd is 10 months old and it is a battle everytime! She cries, kicks, and turns over so she can crawl away.... All at once!! LOL

Mine is the same way. Sometimes worse than others. For some reason he seems to know when the diaper is especially messy and usually picks that time to squirm. My husband works from home and we actually tackle the messy ones together. One person will hold his legs up and the other will wipe and actually change the diaper. He, even then, can flip over in mid-air. He is the same way getting shots. Most babies cry from the pain of the shots but not mine, he cries as soon as you hold him down. Once you let him go he stops crying. Bottom line no need to worry!
