Pregnancy issues still prevalent

Ok, I was just wondering if any other moms still have issues remaining from pregnancy. When I was pregnant kissing made me nauseated. I mean a kiss on the lips was fine, but anything more than that I told my hubby no!! My baby is seven months old and I still don't want to kiss other than a lip kiss. He hates that. Why do I still feel this way? Also, I don't like for him to touch me in that way anymore (I do breastfeed so that explains that). I am not afraid of getting pregnant again, and I do have a libido, and we have a sex life again, but what is wrong with me?? Anyone else feel this way?? Thanks!!

Re: Pregnancy issues still prevalent

I don't have answers to your questions except sadly I do have issues from pregnancy still. Luckily I am able to hold down a meal which I wasn't able to do the whole time during pregnancy so that's a plus but my back still kills me and I had horrible sinus problems that started during the pregnancy so bad that I saw a specialist and I chalked it up to a pregnancy thing but nope still horrible. =/

and what you said about not fearing pregnancy I had my tubes tied and I still fear getting pregnant again! heh

Re: Pregnancy issues still prevalent

I have a few issues left over from pregnancy...

Sex is not so great because everything must be done very carefully. I had a lot of stitches inside and out. It kind of feels like the stitches held, but didn't put everything back in the right place. Plus, there is bleeding after sex...like the stiched areas are niot healed all the way & bleed easily. All was healed & okay at my 6 week PP, but I really should go get it checked. It's been 4 months.

I will never drink OJ again. Got nauseated with it during pregnancy & still can't bring myself to drink it. I used to love it.

It's going to take some time before I eat watermelon again. I used to eat it every day.

I developed restless leg syndrome during pregnancy. It has mostly gone away, but I still experience it about once every couple weeks. At least it's not all the time.

As for getting pregnant again...my husband wants 1 more. I'm open to 1 more, but I refuse to get pregnant until I lose the current baby weight.

Re: Pregnancy issues still prevalent

All the smells that bugged me during pregnancy still set me off. Like the other day, I smelt peppermint tea which I drank every morning to settle my stomach, and the smell made me feel nauseas. During pregnancy I had certain foods that I craved and ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner for weeks on end and now I don't even want to see them. Bascially all the foods and smells that I remember being pg, make me remember and feel that sick feeling all over again.
As to sexually, while pg, I never wanted DH near my breasts and now they are not as sensitive as they were pre-pg, so I prefer he stear clear.

Re: Pregnancy issues still prevalent

You're normal. Just suffering from "touch overload". I nursed my eldest for 3 years on demand, as well as doing the "family bed" thing. There were only rare moments during the day when I wasn't being touched. When hubby tried to touch me I would be thinking that I just wanted to be left alone. Another mother at LaLeche explained to me the overload thing and both hubby and I breathed a sigh of relief that there wasn't anything wrong with me or with the marriage and we actually began laughing about it. He'd chase me around the house laughing "I'm going to touch you" and our daughter would chase after both of us. We turned it into something fun.

Don't worry, it'll pass and you'll be wanting to touch him again.
