The only reason we have a swing is because we borrowed it from my brother. At first she showed no interest in the swing...but it helped a ton during the colicky period. It did take her a while to get used to it and we originally thought she hated the swing. After the colic went away and she became more aware of her surroundings, she now loves the swing. She is more soothed by the back and forth swinging motion than side to side like if we sit in a rocking chair.
My ds is a day younger than yours and he loves his swing. It really depends on the baby though. He falls asleep in it. Does your baby liked to be rocked? Sometimes my baby just wants to be held but for the most part ours is a lifesaver!
My DS does like to be rocked, and he loves to be held. I thought that they had to be older before they can use the swing? I may be thinking about something else.
I thought the same thing but this is a graco swing and it said it is for newborn and up. Just make sure it has a neck support or put one in it. This swing kind of reclines for a small baby and once they get older you can sit the seat up. He was just in it and fell asleep in about 15 seconds!
