Croup or just a new "thing"?

Ds has been wheezing when inhaling off and on for part of today. He is not sick ,and is acting fine. I called the doctor, and she said if it was croup, it would probably come on pretty quick, and told me what to do, but she said she would be surprised because he was not sick prior. I think it could be a new thing he has learned ( he's 9 months) and just likes to do it. It's at random times, but it does happen when he's been crawling alot too. I also asked the doc about asthma (sp?) but she said he would be wheezing on the exhale as well, and it would be pretty bad. Any thoughts?

I think that it maybe a new sound that your son has learned to make. Croup or asthma would be very obvious. Croup has an awful cough that goes with it. DD makes crazy sounds (11 months) including a nice wheezy inhale sound that sounds like the Preditor. DS used to growl at that age. Keep your eye on it, but I bet he's just messing around.

Re: Croup or just a new "thing"?

Thanks Kiera! I just got back from the doctor (2 hours later, mind you) and he said his lungs were clear, so just wait and see what happens. I may just have the weird kid that makes all kids of noises!
