Can 10 Week Old Be Teething Already?

I don't know if its possible for a baby this young to be teething already but I am starting to wonder. For the past week DD has be drooling alot, chewing on anything and everything, and being a little more cranky than usual. I have read that children as young as 3 months can get teeth and some are even born with a tooth. But is it possible she could be teething already or am I getting ahead of myself?

Yes it is possible..........Babies can start to show signs of teething a few months before the tooth appears. It goes back to the whole "they are all different, and do things at different paces"

When my DS was almost 4 months he was showing lots of teething signs...his first tooth didn't appear until he was 7 months old. He's 8 months now and has three teeth and is working on another one!

Yes it's possible, but don't forget that they bite on everything, not just b/c they are teething, but also b/c that's the best way for them to explore things, and of course when you are chewing constantly you will drool more. With teething, the drooling was so excessive, after about an hour from waking up, his whole shirt at the front was wet from top to below his waist.
My DS got his first 2teeth at 4mo, and now at 7mo has 8 teeth. He was only cranky when his top teeth were coming in, and I'm mean, he went from happy to crying non-stop, BIG difference. But all babies are different. Just make lots of chew toys/cloth available. My son liked his fingers the best.

Re: Can 10 Week Old Be Teething Already?

My daughter started," biting" or sucking on everything and for her she just lkikes to suck and bite things. It comforts her.If she is upset or she can't go to sleep she likes to suck or bite something.... just a thought.

She could be teething as well... I know of baby books and such say children don't teeth before 3 or 6 months but some do. Some babies get teeth very early, sone are born with teeth.Every baby is different. If you are cocerned pop into the doctor and see what she/he has to say.

OMG I can't belive you posted this. Our sons are close to the same age and my little guy is doing the same thing. He was SCREAMING his head off Saturday night and we couldn't figure out why. He started drooling really bad yesterday and last night my DH noticed the tooth barely starting to poke out. Will it have to be pulled? I've read that somewhere. He's 2 months and 5 days old!
