Baby Blues

I just had my baby on March 20th and I can not stop crying. I am so emotional. I keep thinking about how fast all of this has happened and it makes me sad to think how quickly he's going to grow up. I am a mess of emotions right now and am feeling like a fool. I just feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family I cry all the time!!! Please tell me I am not the only one!! This is all so emotionally over whelming.

Thumbs up Re: Baby Blues

You are NOT the only one! This is very common! You should be going for your Post Op soon. Tell you doc. You may need to be put on an anti depressant meds for a few months. I assure you, it is very common! This too will pass!
Yes, they grow up so quick. Mine are 14 & 8. I get emotional about it still but each phase is wonderful and a blessing of its own.

Re: Baby Blues

It is funny because it is a happy cry. I have wanted to be a mom for so long that now that I am it is SOO emotional. I could not even sing him a song today without crying my eyes out! I don't feel "sad" per say, and I am enjoying him so much, even the middle of the night feedings! I look forward to them. But the crying is becoming embarrassing when I break out in front of people.

Re: Baby Blues

I had that too right after DS was born. I'd hear a song on the radio, or see a commercial and cry. Same thing, it was a happy cry. I was so happy and excited after DS was born that I went for about of week on a kind of overdrive mode. Running around like a chicken with my head cut off, getting up at all hours and trying to learn all I could about looking after him. After about a week the fatigue set in. All the running and not sleeping hit like a tonne of bricks. Don't forget to get some rest even if you are feeling really good right now. I don't know about others, but I had a kind of a crash after the "baby high" wore off. I probably could have slept a week straight! lol
