Teething, suggestions please!!! - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

My dd is almost 6 months and she is teething terribly. No teeth have broken the skin yet but she is drooling like crazy and she chews everything in sight. When I picked her up from daycare on Friday then sent me home with a teether that she seems to enjoy. All the other frozen ones I bought she has not interest in. Now she has a terrible runny nose too. I think this is from the teething too or maybe not.

What are some other symptoms of teething? She also has not been slepping. She wakes up every hour or so whining and goes right back to sleep.

I have also been giving her orajel (which she hates) and tylenol. Does anyone else have any other suggestions what I can do to make her feel better. I feel so bad for her.

My son didn't like anything either. Tylanol was the only thing that helped and breastfeeding a lot. It finally passed after hard 3wks. Unfortunatly time is the best medicine.

My baby will be 6 mos Apilr 6 and she just cut her 2 bottom teeth. She is very conjested and I actually took her to the doc for it. He says it's because of the teething. He did prescribe her Carbatuss for it. My friend's little girl is breaking like 4 teeth at one time and what really seems to work for her is the teething tablets. You put them in their mouth and they instantly dissolve-they're also all natural. My babies have all hated orajel. Have you used it before? I have and I hated it too. It almost kind of burns with the numbing if that makes any sense. I would check and see if you could find the tablets-they've worked for everyone I know who's tried them. Good luck!!

DD is a bit older but if you have introduced fruits you can do this. I give DD a little mesh bag for introducing solids. I put a can of pears in the fridge until the get nice and cool then give her a piece in the bag. She loves it and its good for her unlike medications. Bananas work really well but give DD a rash.Otherwise we have done graham crackers an orange and an apple. poor DD is getting in 4 teeth right now too.

My DS and I both love Hylands teething tablets. They are homeopathic and work like magic!
