My baby was born with a problem in his neck. I needed to have an emergency c section and he was so stuck in there that they had to PULL him out. Well they pulled so hard to get him out that they tore mussel in his neck that grew back as scar tissue and not mussel. There is a name for this problem, but I forgot, I think its like tort.... (something). His head is ALWAYS leaning to one side. We were told to do streches, but it hasnet yet worked.

Does anyone know anything about this or have any further information?

Try a chiropractor. My neighbor's daughter always held her neck to one side as a baby and they got a chiropractor to come to the house and massage it and stuff. She is fine now.

My guess is he has Torticollis.....my son was also born with this and we had to do stretches three times a day and he had to go in for PT once a week. After three weeks of PT we were able to cut down to every other week and after two times of that we're now able to cut down to once a month for PT but still do the stretches at home three times a day. The stretches have done wonders for my son who is now 5 months old, he doesnt tilt anymore and with the PT and stretches he has been reaching developmental milestones earlier than most babies.

We started our son with just the chiropractor but then our doctor recommended PT and i'm glad we opted to go with PT because it's been great for our son.....of course most of it is what we do at home. If you dont do the stretches at home it's not going to get better.

YES!!! THATS THE NAME OF IT!!! thanks!!! We do streches with his neck to the opposite side every day(10seconds, right??). he still tilts a lot!!! So no Chiro

??? And children with this conditopn develope slower??? I really know NOTHING about this. All the ped said was strech, thats it!!

My first son was also born with this and now at 22 months he is perfectly fine. At 4 months we took him to the Ped because it wasn't getting better. We had to prop him on his side so his head wouldn't always rest on the same spot. He does have a little flat spot still but his neck is perfectly fine and there are no signs that there was ever anything wrong. We did the stretches too but no PT. Don't worry about it. If he starts getting a flat spot talk to your Ped and see what they recommend. We had to roll a big fat towel up and tuck it under his right side so his head wouldn't flop to the right.
