When should you start brushing your baby's gums and/or teeth?

I was wondering this about the gums... I don't think you need to brush the gums because I do alot of reading and haven't seen anything on brushing gums - but I do know that as soon as they get a tooth you need to rub it clean and then I would rub the gums then too - but if anyone knows any different let me know!

well i was used the little nuby thing and doin my sons gums like once a day starting at like 6 months..at 7 months his first tooth popped thru and then the second, i brush them like 2 times a day, but he does not really care for it, he used to like me doing just his gums tho
