What to do??? - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

Just wondering what you and baby do all day? I am a SAHM, which is great, but boring sometimes, I mean really how many cheerios can you pick up before you lose your mind????
But I don't feel like we do anything, or like I am doing things with him. We go outside, and go swimming sometimes, but as for playing, he doesn't really play any games yet, he likes to play ball, but all that is is him throwing it and hten coming up and hugging you, which is great, but not really a game. He won't sit still long enough for me to read to him, but he will sit and read to himself, it's so cute, he goes to sleep reading, lol.
I spend alot of time just sitting there watching him. Seems like I should be doing something with him, but what???
Any suggestions?

My kids love to garden!! We go to the flower shop and pick out whatever ones then all summer fun. We plant them first (they have a Dora shovel and Spongebob gloves so cute) and then water and weed them all summer.They love to be outside and this gives them something to look foward to. DD loves to just play with the shovel and a couple cups of the dirt.

Ds likes to help me "garden" too. He carries the water jugs, lol. And sometimes picks stuff, oops.

We go to the park, go for walks, and play in the yard. I'm lucky that I have an older sibling for DS, so she plays with him as well, they sure make a mess of the living room while they do too. LOL

I envy you! I wish I could stay home too!!!
When I go home from work I try to spend as much quality time with my DD as possible. We usually go for a walk (she is in her stroller) sometimes we go to the park and play, other times we just walk around. Then we stop at the convenient store and I always buy her something, thats her treat. I usually buy her a little box of cheerios and once a week she gets ice-cream.
We also play with her blocks and shapes and I try to teach her new words. She can take up to an hour to say something but when she does its awesome! We turn on the radio and dance she loves to dance.
I know its not all day like you though. How about a play date with other children in the area? Our library has reading days for little ones so you could take your DS and see how it goes.
My DD is a true Diva and loves shopping already so we go window shopping in the evenings. I am teaching her 'retail therapy' from a young age!
They like to look at the colors and shapes so you can take him to the mall for a couple of hours. I take mine and for lunch we sit by the water fountains and eat. We also go to the beach and play in the sand.
