| Re: Birth marks and Moles
hey newg, just how old is your friends daughter and when did the angioma develop/has it been there since birth or did it suddenly just pop in one day out of the blue?the reason i am asking is it 'can' be a sign of liver/kidney disease.my son had one that had been there for many years,in his case it kept getting deeper and deeper red with tiny little capillaries surrounding it.didn't think much of it at the time and neirther did his doc.at age 12 he started showing some odd symptoms and the next thing we knew,he had been Dxed with being in liver failure.i am sure this is just a benign angioma or also called a nevis?but just to be sure, really sure, you may want to have your friend get some blood tests done on her child just to make sure.the key thing here is the actual age of the child right now.if she is at least ten and presenting with this,it really is important to get the liver and kidney blood work done.just to be totally sure their isn't some sort of issue.hopefully this is one of the more benign ones and will eventually dissapate over time.please let me know if you should find out anything.marcia
