nappy changing dilema

Ok so how one earth do you entertain your babies when changing their nappies????

I have tried toys, nappies to play with, mobiles but still i cant stop my 8 month old from wanting to flip on his belly and try and crawl on the change table when ever i change his nappy!!! And poos at the moment are a competition between who can get to it the fastest!!! As soon as his nappy comes off his hands go down (even when i give him toys to play with) and he tries to grab whatever is in his nappy - then when i have cleaned him up and try to put a fresh nappy on he thinks its fun to flip over and get on all fours

How do you manage to change your babies nappies in a sane way????????????????????????????????????? ??

Re: nappy changing dilema

I can't give you advice on the changing of the diaper, but as far as the hands in the poo thing goes, have you to tried to block him with one of your arms? Usually the arm that is closest to his head I try to block his arms so that he hits my arm instead of getting into the diaper. Mine son just lies there and lets me do it, no fighting, YET.

Re: nappy changing dilema

My dd did that for a while. I had to hold her down with one arm over her chest area. She hated it and protested, but she stopped after a while. Now I play peek-a-boo with her. When I take her pants off, I put them over her face and play with her. If she doesnt have pants on I will use the diaper. She is at that age where she loves to play that game(around 12mo). You could also have special toys for the changing table like an old cell phone (somthing all babies love), or something like that.

Re: nappy changing dilema

I just pray, lol. We had the hands in poo things a while back and I would either cover him with an extra diaper, or (this sounds awful) lay my leg across his body! It helps to give them soemting "Special" to play with. DS likes to help get the wipes out
