The next step is for babies 9 months and up. Some people continue to use it in place of milk when their babies turn 1 year b/c there are more vitamins in it than whole milk. However, when it comes down to buying a gallon of milk or formula at 1 year, I think most parents opt for the milk for obvious reasons (the price).
I also know many people do not switch to the Next Step and just continue on regular formula. My son is 9 months and has his appointment tomorrow. I haven't decided if I am going to use the Next Step. I don't think BJ's sells it in bulk so I may just stay with the LIPIL.
Good question, I am interested in what other people use.
