Next Step LIPIL

When did your DR give the okay to move onto the stage 2 formula's?, like Next Step LIPIL or Good Start2? I have gotten conflicting opinions on this. My DR said not until they are 2, my friends DR said that they are basically the same and you can use it whenever. I don't give my 2 year old formula so that to me was odd. But what did you hear?

Re: Next Step LIPIL

The next step is for babies 9 months and up. Some people continue to use it in place of milk when their babies turn 1 year b/c there are more vitamins in it than whole milk. However, when it comes down to buying a gallon of milk or formula at 1 year, I think most parents opt for the milk for obvious reasons (the price).

I also know many people do not switch to the Next Step and just continue on regular formula. My son is 9 months and has his appointment tomorrow. I haven't decided if I am going to use the Next Step. I don't think BJ's sells it in bulk so I may just stay with the LIPIL.

Good question, I am interested in what other people use.
