bath tub safety question - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

Not quite a "health" questions, but definitely a safety question for me. My daughter is 6 months and a big baby who really doesn't fit in the infant tub anymore; however, she can't sit up completely on her own yet, so the large tub is not an option. The bath seats I see seem to be for 7-8 month olds who can hold themselves up - where does that leave you in between? I tried bathing her in the sink but it definitely isn't safe since she can't hold herself up yet and am unsure what others have done regarding the bath seats.

I had something called Safer Bather that you lay in the tub and put the baby on top. It worked out really well.

You can use the bath rings at that age. It provides support even if they can't sit up unassisted.

We used an inflatable tub at that transitional stage. It was smaller than the big tub, but didn't have that incline part that the infant tub has. I just held onto their arm the whole time.

I'm in the same boat with my son. I got this thing from wal-mart (not sure what it's called) that's just a piece of fabric held together by wire, and one end of it is raised, so you just lay the baby on it (with their head on the raised end obviously) in the big bath tub. It was only about $5 so a really good investment, and bath time is a lot easier than trying to squeeze him into that tiny infant tub!

I was going to suggest the same thing as the last poster. It looks like a cheap bouncy seat, but works well!!
