Flu shot and egg allergy??

A friend is going to get the flu shot today, but then is hesitating now because she heard if you have an egg allergy then you shouldn't get it. She isn't allergic to eggs, but her baby is and she's nursing.
Do any of you know if this can harm her baby?
Thanks.

Re: Flu shot and egg allergy??

How does she know her baby is allergic to eggs? Is it when she eats them her baby gets an upset tummy? That could just be an intolerance, not an allergy....totally different. I would just let her doc know what it up, and go from there. It just may not be recommended for her.

Re: Flu shot and egg allergy??

My niece tested positive for an egg allergy and a peanut allergy when she was three months old. Because she was nursing at the time, my sister-in-law was told not to eat peanut butter and I know she did not get the flu shot because of the eggs. As far as the flu shot, I'm not sure if this was just a precaution on her part or if her doctor advised her of this. I wish I had more info for you - she should definitely check with the doctor.

Good luck.

Re: Flu shot and egg allergy??

Flu shots are grown through animal tissues like monkey kidneys, chicken embryo, and dissected organs of humen aborted fetus. So, yes she should be aware. It addition the flu shot contains mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, other other toxins. If there is an allergy I would beware. Many people do not realize what the flu shot contains, but the information is out there if you research it. She can build her own natural immunity instead of getting a flu shot which would be healthier in general and because she has an egg allergy.

You can look up this information like I said, it is available and out there, but not really told to us unless we look for ourselves. I hope this helps!
