DS not walking yet at 13 months - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

DS is 13 months and is not yet standing up. he is a very active and healthy otherwise. He walks with a walker though; but he doesn' t seem interested in walking or trying to walk.

I am a little concerned. He was late to sit and crawl too.

My kids didn't really walk until about the 13-14 month time period. Don't worry too much about it. Talk with your pediatrician, but remember that they all do it in their own time. The main things you can't rush are crawling, walking, talking and potty training. They happen when the kid is ready. Good luck and enjoy the calm before the storm!!

All kids do things when they are ready. My oldest didn't walk until 16 or 17 months. My second (and youngest) walked at 14 months. She also crawled "late" because she preffered to roll to her destination of choice.

Your son is happy doing what he is doing. The only thing I would suggest is taking him out of the walker and letting him explore on the floor. The more he moves and crawls around the quicker he will be to pull himself up and try new things.

I walked late, my husband did and all of my older children walked inbetween 13-15mths old. This new baby is going to walk late too. Even though she wants to walk away now at four months old she'd rather be standing than sitting. Enjoy the time that he is not walking ha ha! Because pretty soon you will be chasing him.
