Teething - up alot at night - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

Anyone else suffering from no sleep at night? My 16month old has been waking up since just before Christmas every night as she's getting 6 teeth (top eye teeth, bottom eye teeth and bottom molers). 3 of the 6 have just broken through but I don't know how much longer I can go without sleep! It's not like she will fall right back asleep either, she is awake from 30minutes to and hour 2-3 times a night. So exhausting, anyone have any tips?

Have you given her Motrin before bed?

I've only tried tylenol tempra, I look into the motrin though, thanks!

You should definitely give her Motrin. Tylenol is just a pain reliever whereas Motrin takes care of inflammation. Teething pain is worse at night because of the blood flow to the head, that's most likely the reason she's up at night. Give her Motrin before bed and since it last 6 hours she should start sleeping longer. Some moms have recommended raising one side of the mattress so there isn't a rush of blood to those very tender gums. I hope you and your little one can get a good nights rest!
