Hi ladies
Okay so I need a bit of help. My DS is 5 months old. He is a good sleeper but he still takes a nap every 2-3 hours for 15-20 minutes. Then after he has been up for 6 hours he will have a nap for 1-2 hours. Then when he goes to bed at night he will sleep for 9 hours. Although most nights he will wake after 4 hours for a little top up and go right back to sleep. (He is breastfeeding by the way) Also he is eating still every couple of hours. He would rather eat every 2-3 hours (and I think only 3-4oz in a feeding, although I really don't know). Also he was eating oatmeal once a day for a couple of weeks and I introduced bananas but now he won't eat either. He will have a couple of spoonfulls and then turn his head and refuse to eat either. He won't sleep in his crib or anywhere flat. He will only sleep in his swing or beside me. Although I don't mind if he sleeps beside me at night. Also I have no bed time routine. The only thing I do is turn out the light. I read a story to my DD and DS at the same time around 8 pm. He will take a nap but again no longer than 30 minutes. He does not fall asleep until 12:30-2:00am. Although he does get up late and DD is in afternoon classes for school this year, so it does work out.

So I do need help with a few things. Why does he all of a sudden not want solids? Why does he still eat every couple of hours along with sleep every couple hours? How can I get him to sleep in his crib or at least on a flat surface by himself? What are some good bedtime routines? When will he stop waking at night to eat? Also when he is up he wants to be held pretty much all the time. We have all the toys but just wants attention from us. When does he start to become a little more independent?

He is a happy baby. But I would like to get things on a more regular routine for all of us. Sorry so long. Thanks for the help everyone. Sherri
