My daughter got her 12 month old immunizations on July 7th. She received four....the Hep A, Hep B, Polio and Chicken Pox vacs. She had absolutely no reaction at all, not even a bruise. A few days ago, we noticed that she had developed a really hard red lump on her thigh. At first, my MIL thought maybe she had been bitten by a spider or something. I didn't think much of it as it didn't seem to hurt her or anything. Then the more I got to thinking about it, I realized that it's in pretty much the same spot that she got two of her immunizations. This morning, it doesn't seem nearly as red, almost more of like a light bruise but it's still really hard. Again, she still doesn't make any mention when I touch and acts as though it's not bothering her at all. I am still concerned and not sure what to think. Could this be from her immunizations? I thought it just seemed weird that it would show up this long after she received them (11 days ago) but I do remember her pedi saying a few things when she received them. Mainly about the Chicken Pox vaccination. He said that around 10-20 days some children might have a reaction, but all I remember him saying was that it could be in the form of actually having a small case of Chicken Pox. I don't recall him saying anything about the actual area where the shot was given. Also, I read all of the info that he gave me on the immunzations and it did say that with the Polio vaccine that some will develop a sore spot, but it doesn't say how long after. I wasn't sure, it just seems to me that if that were the case it would've happened a lot sooner. I am going to call the pedi's office today but just wanted to know what you all think????
