What/how much is your 4-8 month old eating? - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

I really would like to know what you 4-8 month old is eating/drinking? For example, I would like to know the age of your baby, weight of your baby, how much formula/breastmilk they take, and how many solids. For the solids, if you say they take a stage 2 container twice a day, are they eating it all or half of it, for example?

I have a 6 month old, weighs about 14.10 pounds and she drinks 28-35 ounces of formula and eats 2/3rds of a stage 2 in the morning and 1/2 or 2/3rds of a stage 2 at night before bed.

My 4.5 month old weighs just over 16 lbs. She averages about 35 ounces of formula (on 4 feedings, sometimes 5). She usually has a bottle at 7:30,11:30, 2:30 and 6:30. We just started her on solids last week and so far she has only had a tiny bowl of Oatmeal with her midmorning bottle. Today, I am going to start oatmeal with her mid morning bottle and then a Stage 1 fruit or veggie with her late afternoon bottle.

She seems to have an endless appetite and it sometimes worries me how much she eats....jusy yesterday, for her morning bottle (I just switched from Enfamil AR back to Isomil, so it isnt as thick), but she at 13 ounces at one sitting! I would much rather give her Stage 1 fruit and just a 6 oz bottle, but so far, the oatmeal doesnt seem to satisfy her like her bottle does.

My baby is 4 months. She drinks 32 oz of formula a day. 4 - 8oz bottles. At her 4 Month well-check last week, they told us we could start with yellow vegetables and rice or oatmeal cereal. I have started her on the oatmeal cereal in the morning with her 8oz bottle. I have been giving her about half of the bottle to take the hunger edge off and then spoon feed and then the rest of the bottle. I found that she likes the oatmeal with water better than mixing it with formula. Haven't tried the veggies yet. One thing at a time. I gave her grape juice watered down today and she loved it. She weighed 15 lbs 1oz at her appt, which is the 75th percentile.

Just a quick update...Taylor will be 5 mths on 8/6, so technically it was her 4 3/4 visit today. She weighed 15 lbs 14 oz which was in the 72nd percentile and she is in the
75th percentile for height. She has been on oatmeal for 2 weeks and she gets her first taste of sweet squash today!! =)

Thank you for the responses. I am trying to figure out if my 6 1/2 month old is getting enough and the right stuff.

Does anyone else also have a baby in this age range that could comment on their food intake?
