my son 6months flu shott - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

On Friday my 6th month old got his flu along with the other shots they give. Today which is Sunday he started to throw up and wants to sleep. He isn't acting himself. Is this normal or something to be concerned about? Thank you for your time Brandi Griffin

I'm not sure exactly what symptoms the flu shot can cause, but I know that the shots they typically give 6 month olds can cause these symptoms, however they usually begin within 12 hours of recieving the shots, so maybe he picked up a bug. Does he have a fever?

He is warm but no registered fever.

I am not sure but I would call the pediatrician. It could always be a bug, but it could be from any of the shots he received, not necessarily the flu shot. My daughter has gotten every vaccination, even though they scare me a little, but if she was having symptoms like that I might even consider taking her to the ER.

Just call the pediatrition and see what they say. The other posters are right...it could just be a stomach bug. Try giving him pedialyte or just plain water in his bottle. The main goal is to keep him hydrated if he is throwing up. Poor little guy
