Storing Bottles - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

This may sound like a silly question, but I'm curious to see how others moms did this. My 15 1/2 month old daughter has been off of the bottle for about 3 months now. I still have yet to put away her bottles because I'm just now sure how to store them. They are really good bottles that I would ideally like to use for baby number two (whenever that may be).
So my question is, what is the best way to store bottles for the next baby? I know it sounds funny, but I'm just not sure...in a box? in a bag? What do other mothers do? Thanks in advance!

I have thrown away the nipples!

Hey Laura!

I don't know from personal experience, but I would get a tuper ware storage container to store them. I think as long as you sterilize them for baby #2, then as long as you keep them in a sealed area (tuberware or bag), then it should be fine. I wouldn't use a box because stuff can get in more easily, like bugs and mice. (We currently have a mouse we can't catch! LOL!)

Hi Laura,

We used the Playtex Nursers with ds, so I wasn't overly worried about how to store them, but what I ended up doing was just putting them into those big Ziplock bags, and keeping them in a cupboard that we don't use. I still want them to be clean and sterile of course, even though the baby doesn't drink directly from them, and just from the liner.
I figured they'd be pretty safe in there!

I put then into a tupperware storage container and they are in a cabinet in the kitchen we don't use (we didn't put them too far because baby #2 came so much sooner than expected and will be using them in a few months).

Hi ladies! Thanks for the info! I think I'm just dense when it comes to this kind of stuff...I hoard way too many of Madeline's belongings and I'm slowly learning to let it go or pack it up. I just wanted to make sure that I put these bottles away so that nothing bad happened to them. I don't actually plan on TTC for about another year, so that's why I'm worried about it, lol...like I can't get more, I know! I think about how much money I've already shed out and I think...NO MORE! Ha! Watch me have a boy next time around and I'll have to spring for a new wardrobe for him too, lol.
