Best diaper for 4 month old leaking #2 every time? - Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

My 4 1/2 month old DD is on Pregestimil due to allergies and has been doing fine on it but the last month or even more every time she poops it goes everywhere. I started her with pampers but to try to save money I tried generic and just now switched back to pampers again since we always liked them best with my other daughter. I even went up a size to size 3 and it didn't leak out the back this time like it had been but out the side! any other ones anyone has had luck with who may have had this problem? It's just I feel like I can't take her anywhere until she goes because I know it is a big mess and a bunch of laundry every time. luckily though she goes either once a day or once every other day but still. Thanks!

I really don't have much advice to offer but I've had this problem with my 2 month old although not to the extent that you are having it. I used Pampers for a really long time with my first daughter but ended up switching to Huggies because I felt like they fit better all around. I tried Pampers Swaddlers this time at first but they just didn't seem to fit right, too straight around the legs and didn't have any curve to them. So I switched to Huggies with her as well and have had pretty good luck thus far since switching. It started leaking again recently and I just went up a size and now they are working great again. But you said you've already tried that so I am not sure. If you haven't, give Huggies a try...I just think they fit better around the legs because they are curved instead of being straight all the way down.
