I have read that growth spurts tend to occur in the 3 week, 6 week, and 3 month. I know that there is no normal or usual when it comes to babies, but Liam is 2 weeks old and will not stop eating. Could he be going through a growth spurt already? He was a week late, and I dont know if that matters. Last night he took 10 oz in 5 hours. He usually take 3 oz every 3-4 hours and sleep very soundly in between feedings. He was much more fussy than usual too. I know he's been very gassy, and I think that is my fault for eating some things I shouldnt have. Are there other signs of a growth spurt than eating more?

It's totally possible he's going through a growth spurt. But babies in general really only seem to eat and sleep in the first month or so, and they'll continue to increase their intake too.
I always knew when my ds was going through a growth spurt because he would do just that--eat and sleep, and not much else (until he was probably about 9 mo or so).

It's either a growth spurt or he may not be getting enough to eat. Do you breastfeed? If you do then you may not be producing enough milk; or he may just be nursing to comfort himself. My girls would use me as a pacifier at that young of an age.
I am pumping and giving him the bottle. He started out in NICU, and they bottle fed him there, so nursing has been a huge challenge, and I knew he wasnt getting enough when he did nurse because I was still pumping. I produce about 8 total oz each time I pump, which is about every 3-4 hours. I usually pump after he falls alseep from his eating. I did go to the dr yesterday, and weighed myself then held him to get a rough est of his weight now, and it was 11 lbs! He also seems to be getting longer. Last week his 3 month outfits were a little big on him, and now they are almost perfect. I think I just have a big eater and a fast grower on my hands

I just wanted to let you know good job on the pumping, thats even harder in my book than BF alone. Also 8oz each time you pump is a lot of milk. Most babies only need 4-5 oz of milk at each feeding and strictly BF babies take even less.
One of my 6 month old girls only takes 3 oz from a bottle sometimes and she wieghs 16lbs, triple her birth weight of 5lbs
