Re: 10 month old fell from bed , a little blood from nose

anyone? she slept fine and had 16oz at night time which is alot more than her usual 9-10, she woke up fine and slept well but there was some blood on the sheets, dry bloodm when i looked, she has a pretty bad bite on her tongue from the fall, i checked her head, arms, legs, stomach everything, she is playing and crawling and clapping as usual, shes moving her head as usual.

shes talking as usual, nothing seems wrong, expect for the blood, but im guessing its from her tongue..

I'd rather not take her to the dr if i dont have to, its filled with sick ppl and the wait is crazy...

what are your thoughts?

Ok, so this is just my opinion. I personally would call the dr. in the morning. You should probably be able to talk to a nurse and they could give you more advice. I would say everything is fine and they will probably just tell you to watch her, but if it would me I would call, just to be safe!! Good luck!

Re: 10 month old fell from bed , a little blood from nose

My nephew just fell recently on a hardwood floor right on his nose, and got a bloody nose from it (and wiped it all over my shoulder!!!). But we just watched him for the rest of the night and he's been fine ever since. My bet is everything is okay.

Re: 10 month old fell from bed , a little blood from nose

My DD had a bloody nose once too. She was in DH's care, and, not only did he forget to close the gate at the bottom of the stairs, but he wasn't paying attention to her and didn't notice her climbing them. She tripped and fell (not down the stairs thank God, just on the step) and got a bloody nose. As you can imagine, I was SOOOOOO mad at DH. We just watched her for the rest of the day and she was absolutely fine, her normal self. I wouldn't worry as long as she is acting normal, but it never ever hurts to call the Dr any time you are worried.

Re: 10 month old fell from bed , a little blood from nose

Kids are very resilient. I have 3--5yr, 2yr and 17 months. Each of them have taken some kind of fall. The oldest fell about 2-1/2 feet off the bed onto a carpeted floor, the middle daughter fell off the deck down 3 steps, the youngest fell down a flight of stairs at my parents house. All of them were fine.

If the baby is waking, eating, sleeping and playing, then I wouldn't worry. However, always go with your gut. If you feel that the baby needs to be seen by a doctor then go, I wouldn't rely on a message board to give you all the answers. I don't mean this in a mean way, but it sounds like you are very concerened. Even if everything is fine with the baby, the doctor visit wouldn't be wasted because it would give you peace of mind.

Good luck.
