My baby was 9.75 lbs when he was born and was drinking 2 ounces of milk every 2-3 hours during the first 2-4 weeks and gradually increased it to 3-4 ounces when he was a month old. At 2 months he was taking 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours.
He is now drinking 5-6 ounces every 3-4 hours but at night he sleeps for 6-7 hours straight and when he wakes up, he would take a 7 ounces milk in 6 minutes without throwing up.
My baby was also 11 lbs by the time he was 4 weeks old so it depends on the size or weight of your baby.
But giving 3 ounces by 1 month every 3-4 hours wont hurt your baby. You should look for cues like crying after 2 hours, meaning he or she is hungry again or throwing up meaning you are overfeeding although this things doesnt necessary means hungry or overfeeding. It could be other discomforts or reflux.
This, along with everything else, varies greatly by child. As long as she's peeing and pooping well, and weight isn't a concern, then a child should be allowed to eat as much or as little as they like.
At 5 weeks I believe my son was taking about 2oz every 3 hours.

Hi. My daughter Elora was five weeks yesterday. She is eating about 4-5 oz every 4 hours. It isn't set in stone though, sometimes she eats more, sometimes she eats less. I try to feed her a little more often during the day so that she feeds less at night time. But it doesn't really matter what I want her to do, she does what she wants. But for the most part, that is the average she eats. I am not 100% sure on her weight but I think she weighs about 8.5-9 lbs maybe. She was born December 18th.
Your baby is going to eat as much as they want at each feeding. They know how hungry they are, and sometimes they throw us a curve ball and rapidly increase or decrease their food intake. Between sudden growth spurts and spells of not feeling well, sometimes it is hard to know how much a baby will eat at one time. DS ate 5 oz every 1.5 hours a few weeks ago, now he's down to 2-3 every 1.5 hours, but he weighs 16lbs and is 10 weeks old, so trust your baby to know how much they want to eat.

My little girl was born Dec. 8, and wieghed 5.5 pounds. Her intake of the formula is 3 ounces every 2-3 hours. As long as your baby is eating and gainging weight (and not losin) then everything should be okay .
Every baby is diferent.
