Multiple ear infections after tubes

My son is 11 and 1/2 months old. At 8 months, he had an ear infection that I'm not sure has ever gone away. At 10 months, he got tubes. I was so hopeful that the tubes would do the trick. I've heard many wonderful success stories, but ours isn't one of them. He had an infection the day he got tubes, and he has since had two more infections. Actually, we've never taken him in to the doctor and had the dr say his ears were clear, so I can't say that he hasn't had an infection for almost 4 months straight. We've tried every oral antibiotic and are on our third type of drops since the tubes went in.

Can anyone relate? I need a light at the end of this tunnel!

Thanks!

Re: Multiple ear infections after tubes

I'm no expert and I am only pregnant with my first child, but my best friend had ear issues with her little girl. She started taking her daughter to the chiropractor and the ear aches went away. Not sure if this will solve your problem, but looking into it might be helpful...

Hope this helps some...

Re: Multiple ear infections after tubes

I can relate as our DD had tubes three times, the second time along with having her adenoids out and then her tonsils out later on. She now rarely has them, but it obviously took a long time to get to this point. Have they tried a daily low dose of antibiotics? How about allergy meds? Have they tried eliminating dairy? I have heard about chiropractic as the PP mentioned, but have never tried it for ear infections.
