| Re: at what age is it right to feed the baby baby food
You'll find that you are going to get many mixed opinions about this subject. Many people follow strict rules about when to intrduce solids to babies, and then the others will say it's more about the baby's hunger needs.
My pediatritian wasn't a "by the book" doctor. My daughter was a big baby, 8lbs. 10oz. when she was born. The usual 4 ounces of formula weren't sufficient for her very early on.
At 4 weeks old, I was adding a baby rice cereal to two of her bottles a day. The second bottle and the last bottle before bed. Not alot, just enough to thicken the formula a bit. It was a little scary beacause I had to enlarge the hole in the nipple, but, she was hungry and needed the extra "bulk".
At around 4 months old, she was eating rice cereal oatmeal twice daily, and then moved to full out baby food very soon after that. She was never overweight and was a very happy, healthy and content baby.
I'd say let your pediatritian guide you if you feel your little one needs more than just formula.
