Not gaining weight
My cousins baby is now 2 months old and only weighs 8 pounds. He was just 5 pounds at birth and lost down to 4 pounds 4 ounces. he was kept a week until he gained back up to 5 pounds 1 ounce.
He looks so thin stick arms and legs.He vomits up alot of his bottle every time. the peditrician knows this and has adjusted his type of formula.
He eats often and 4 ozs which half comes back up. I suspect thats why hes so slow gaining weight. The docs not concerned. But I am some what.Any thoughts?

Has the baby been tested for reflux? Sometimes it's a matter of having an anti-acid medicine such as zantac prescribed.

How are the babies stools? Normal or are they frequent, bulky, greasy--- failure to thrive is a symptom of cystic fibrosis.

Could it be an allergy to dairy?

Not sure but I will ask about the testing for reflux..He is some what constipated. As to dairy allergy that was my thought but she says her doc does not think so.
