Similac Alimentum at 12 months or older?

My daughter has been seen by a GI specialist and her doc wants her to continue formula after her 1st birthday (12/6/12). She has been taking Gerber Protect since she was a newborn. I was told Alimentum by Similac is an excellent formula for Reflux/Gerd babies and ones who asperate like my little girl. Can you give a baby 12 months or older Alimentum or should I stick with the Gerber Protect 2? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!!

This is something i would ask the doc. Since different formulas effect babies differently it may or may not be a good idea. I will tell you that when I had my kiddo and had to switch to different ones (per doc orders) I couldnt just switch all of the sudden. It had to be introduced gradually and there are different methods to doing this. Like I said, ask the doc what he/she opinion is. They may suggest a completely different one.
