Went out of country been sick since.. - Infectious Diseases Message Board

Hi everyone I was wondering if someone had and idea or give me a clue about what could be happening to me.. I went to Mexico and Jamacia back in september and about a month after coming back I became sick.. It started with tachycardia, weakness, dizziness, tingling, fatigue and a lot of other symptoms.. I've had MRI's Cats, blood tests tilt tables and nothing.. I'm convinced i have a parasite.. Recently i started getting headaches.. I went to a neurologist and the MRI MRA came back fine.. Now i have sores on my head and tounge. I am constantly dizzy and weak.. and my vision goes in and out of focus... Is anyone familiar with a parasite that i could have picked up that perhaps they are not looking for.. Or maybe a website with a list of parasites from that end of the world.. Anything would help its been 7 long months and im ready to feel better... Thanks Tara

also forgot to add the lymphnodes on the back of my head and side are swollen so obviously i have something funny going on in my head..

My wife and I just got back from Cabo San Lucas. While there for 7 days she got food poisoning they said. ABdominal pain nausea and vomiting, diahrea. They gave her 3 shots of dramimine and she was better in 3 days. We were back for about 3 weeks and she was hospitalized for 14 days with no diagnosis for severe abdominal pain and nausea. hematologist, oncologist gastroitologists, infectious disease Dr. and nobody can figure it out. NAll her cat scans and mri's and blood work was normal. Go figure. HELP. Got any suggestions?

Hi Tara

Have you consired H. Plyori which is in contaminated food or water that you may have been exposed to in Mexico. The bug cause symptoms that the doctors might think you have IBS, gastritis, or ect. A simple blood test can tell you. The medication is two whole weeks taking 4 pills in the morning and 4 at night. Its tough but when its over you'll feel better. Good Luck

I would have the Dr. test for Entoemeba Histolytica. I came home from India with it and I'm STILL trying to rid my body of it. I've had an extensive course of Flagyl and Iodoquinol and yet it persists. Parasites can be very difficult to rid your body of. They may require multiple therapies and may or may not be resistant to certain therapies. You should check out www.badbugs.org to start your quest to determine if you have them and, if so, how best to rid your body of them.
