Mono-Like Virus

I came down with a virus about three months ago. It lasted for a month. I had a very sore throat and felt tired and weak. Every since, I have had fatigue that hasn't gone away much. My test for EBV/mono was negative, and all other blood tests were normal. Has anyone else had fatigue after a non-mono virus, and how long did it last? How did you get rid of it?
Thanks!

Re: Mono-Like Virus

Viruses do that to you sometimes. The best you can do is keep getting lots of sleep and eating healthy food, and wait for your energy to return.

Feel better!

Re: Mono-Like Virus

Did the dr do the test again? Sometimes mono doesnt show up on the first test. My son was tested twice before it showed up. I work in a school health office and students had the same situation of mono not showing up right away. The treatment was the same though, rest, rest and more rest and protect the spleen as it sometimes swells

Re: Mono-Like Virus

Hi, I had something similar in Jan 2007 - it lasted about 3-4 months. I also tested neg for mono, strep and everything else. It was "just a virus" according to doc, but it took a long time to get better, - fatigue, sore throat, ear pain (from the throat) and swollen glands. The advice you got below is good. Get tested again, but it may just be a wierd virus like I had. Patience, rest, and I took oil of oregano capsules - I think that helped, too. best, c
