I don't know how the ASO titre is listed in the lab you go to, but usually anything that is >1:40 is considered positive. So something like 1:320 is more positive than something which is 1:40.
What the numbers mean is how many times the lab can dilute your serum before they no longer can detect the anti-streptolysin-O antibody. Conceptually if you think about it, the more antibody you have, the more you have to dilute it before it is completely gone.
