indigobird Newbie (female) Join Date: Jan 2010 Posts: 9	Staph infection in my tonsils/throat glands? A few questions... please help? Hi everyone. So I went and got a 2nd opinion today... and this doctor says my swollen glands are caused by a "raging" staph infection. He put me on two different antibiotics - Septra and Cleocin (clindamycin) - each for 3 weeks. But the thing that is confusing me is that my tonsils/glands have been swollen and painful since October of 2008. My doctor said that likely my throat started with a regular infection, then I let it get out of hand, and it turned to staph. My question is... HOW long could this staph infection have been lingering in my body? I've been SO sick for months now. Fevers, vomiting, nausea... Any help? Thank you all so much. :]
