Questions for the pro's
hello everyone, I am hoping that someone on here can offer a little info. I know from experience that other patients are usually the most helpful. I have been having chronic UTI's and kidney infections for the past 6 years. My docs have not been very good over the years but I have made it through. I just saw a new urologist who is going to do a couple more tests to see if there are any structural abnormalities that have been missed and if not then send me to an infectious disease doc. I have infections on a regular basis, every couple months or so even though I have been on a prophylactic antibiotic. Numerous of my infections have required several different antibiotics due to being resistant and there has not been any explanation as to a cause yet. I am nervous about seeing an ID doc. I guess because when I think of infectious diseases I think of things like hepatitis or HIV so my first thought (and I do realize that it isn't the logical assumption) is that my doc thinks I have something like this.
sorry for the rambling. Just nervous I guess and hated hearing infectious disease... wondering if anyone has seen an ID for bladder/kidney infections and what I can expect in general. thanks everyone
