Etiology still unknown

Dear specialists, this is my mother's case which is still under investigation … would you please help:
My mother is sweet 54 years old female, smoker, drinks wine at dinner, active, no serious illness for the past 30 years, has coxarthrosis.
It all began on 15 May 2011 with strange pain in the throat - it is described as 'muscle stiffness' pain in area of the thyroid gland felt more likely outside the throat rather than inside the throat it self, not related to swallowing. My mother self treated with Coldrex and vitamins and for few days she felt recovered. The following week same strange 'throat pain appeared - she became febrile and started oral treatment with Ospamox; in few days fever was still high 37.5-38 ˚C and GP changed the oral antibiotic. (I am waiting for copies of all discharged documents and some medications I can not name). After a week on oral antibiotics fever and general condition were not at all improving- GP made chest XR and discovered pneumonia with pleuritis in the bases of the two lungs. She was hospitalized and started intravenous antibiotic treatment - it was not resolving the high temperature for 3 days and they changed the IV antibiotic (4th tipe for 2 weeks). At that time she had 3xULN leucocytes. After 8 days IV antibiotic treatment she was feeling generally better but still febrile 37.5 ˚ C, leucocytes became near to normal but now trombocytes were atypically high. We decided to move her in different hospital.
At the day of the transportation (250 km) to the new hospital she developed very strong pain circling the hole lower body (arround kidney level) - at the new hospital first they did CT for pulmonary embolism which was negative, on new chest XR they confirmed the two pleuritis and a new finding - pericarditis. They started treatment with IV antibiotics from Ciprofloxacin group and a lot of NaCl 5%, glucose and other supportive drugs. After 5 days the doctors finally managed to get the fever down. During second hospitalisation my mom had: abdominal echography - negative for structural changes; 2 echocardiographies - cardiologist confirmed that the hart is functioning normal, but pulmo condition was causing elevated arterial pressure in right part of the hart; two chest X rays showing that pneumonia is cuared and the two pleuritises are decreasing. She also has negative tests for Legionela, Chlamydia, ANA screening and ANCAs (her leukograma was showing high level of antibodies). The circling pain was like muscle cramps and she had it for at least 4 days before it started disappearing. The sore throat appeared at least 3 times after the two 'strange throat pain episodes'- appearing and then resolving; From the second hospital my mom was discharged after 8 days with resolved pneumonia, no fever and in generally good condition.
She continued her recovery at home with assigned oral treatment of Cyprobay, Voltaren and som probiotic medicines. She was sub febrile for the first 2-3 days only at night -37.5° C and then she finally did not have fever for two whole days.
On the seventh day at home she woke up fealing very weak, with heavy feeling in the heart area and with difficult breathing - which when taking deep breath was causing pain. She went to cardiologist and based on the ECG he did she was hospitalized in the emergency sector of third hospital with working diagnosis Infarction (yesterday ). The enzyme tests are negative for serious blood vessels condition (no MI) and she is now planned for coronarography on Monday, with confirmed stenocardia. During the past night at the emergancy she had another episode of high fever 38,5°C and very strong pain described in the muscles, the joints and the skin of all body parts from lower body up to the neck. She was not paralyzed and was able to move, but stood at sited position the whole nigh because pain was less. This time fever went down very quickly - within 15 min of paracetamol intake and with extensive sweating. Additionally since my mom got ill (1 month now), she constantly has thid night sweating . We are now waiting for tuberculosis test to get ready as well.
I am sorry for the long story but otherwise I would not have been bothering you. Now we will be investigating different infectious diseases and if some suggestions arise in your mind please share. Thank you for your time and do have a nice day. Petya
