| | Strep....Mono....Sinus Issues...? Whats going on with me.?
Can a blood test thats testing for Diabetes/HIV also find that you'r e fighting an infection in your system such as Strep or Mono.? I've had two swollen lymph nodes on the sides of my neck since the end of november, on the 30th i went to the E.R and I didn't have a fever. I didn't recieve a strep test, just a look down my throat and a perscription for sudafed/anti-inflammatory pills. My diagnosis was "pharyngitis" from my chronic post nasal drip problem that i've had since mid-summer. I couldn't see my doctor earlier this month after I told her about the lymph nodes swelling, instead she ordered antibiotics over the phone for me, which i refused to take because she claimed it was a virus (you aren't suppose to give antibiotics to a person that has a supposed virus, right.?). since the beginning of december i've had stomach pain primarily on the upper left side of my stomach and a bit of nausea. I still don't have a fever. My throat looks the same since the end of november, my tonsils aren't swollen or have white patches on them. I don't have any other flu-like symptoms besides the stomach pain. Its also really painful around my entire abdomen after I eat. Could I just have strep.? I won't know for sure untill hopefully the beginning of January, when I recover my health insurrance and either see my doctor in person about this.
..And I asked about the blood test because I saw an Infectious Disease specialist on the second week of this month while I had the swollen lymph nodes......and the blood test came back normal, it had been determined that i was healthy as a horse. I'm unsure of what type of blood test it was but, but could any type see an infection in your body. ?
