My BF has Guilliane-Barre as of last Labor Day & is finally on the road to recovery, after it took Dr's too long to diagnose him & nothing could be done. Anyway, his main problem now is that he keeps getting these boils of staph that pop up. I immediately cut them open & clean out, or else they just continue to grow and grow. Just as fast as one of these form, the skin underneath is completely eaten away, raw & exposed. He was on home health until Dec., then he was seeing a podiatrist (they started on his feet), who just cleaned them out & wrapped them. He has been on over 3 rounds of antibiotics. As soon as the AB's end - he gets another staph infection (as soon as next day). What else can be done? It's not good for him to take so many AB's, right? I know they gave him a yeast infection. What are other options to knock out this staph? The affected areas are seriously affected & take months for skin to regenerate & heal. The first one is just now almost healed/scarred over & that took about 4 months. He has 2 others & 1 more came up today. Nothing against doctors, but we are in a rural area & they plain out tell us they have no clue when it comes to his Guilliane-Barre & associated medical issues. And his neurologist takes weeks to answer a phone call. HELP!!!!
