Can I get staph infection from my hair stylist who suffers from blood staff infection

Hi everyone,

I'd appreciate to know your opinion if you are familiar with staph infections. So, yesterday I went to get highlights in a very nice hair salon. My hairdresser was an experienced professional and a very pleasant person. However, after 40 mins that he started doing my highlights, he told me that he suffers from serious staph infection in his blood. He also told me that a few months ago he had surgery because it got into his ribs. I freaked out but it was late to do anything. I read that staph infection is highly contagious. Do you think there is a possibility of getting the infection from the hair stylist ? He did highlights on my hair, washed, massaged and dried it. I didnít see any open wounds on his hand, neither do I think, I have open wounds on my head. But as he touched my head and my face, I am kind of afraid now. Is there anything I can do to prevent getting the infection? I recently recovered from a bad tonsillitis and tonsillectomy and my immunity isnít that great, so I am taking Echinacea.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Bimik

HI that all depends on if the staph infection was a coag neg infection or the other type the MRSA infection the infectious type. And infections can be in invisible locations hidden under clothes from public view. It is said by some nurses that everybody has MRSA. Other internet sources says that one out of 4 people has it.
