Boil Or not?
My fiancé has what appears to be a boil on his knee. However, it hasn't ever actually come to a head. It is just an open sore with nothing draining out of it. He has been on antibiotics for 3 days now and it is continuously getting bigger and more painful with pain now shooting up his leg. What should we do? Any suggestions?

Has he had the boil lanced or biopsied? The antibiotic he is taking may not be the right one to treat his infection. They can culture the boil or its drainage and find out what bacteria it grows and than treat it with the antibiotic that kills that bacteria. If the boil is still growing it leads me to think he is on the wrong antibiotic or needs to have it lanced.
