MRSA has existed since 1961.

Why does the sticky say MRSA came out in the 1980s?

Woefully little is actually understood about MRSA. Who is right? Who cares? What's really messed up is that the "professionals" are just as clueless as normal folk when it comes to MRSA and the pandemic it's rapidly becoming.

It's probably because the '80's are when MRSA became resistant to antibiotics other than methicilin.
