a short history of me is i'm ttc 3 years, i just had my third IUI on nov. 3rd. my day to test is this coming wed. the 17th. i expected AF to come by friday if wasn't pg. i caved and took a test yesterday at only 11dpiui, and it was negative. i was spending most of today thinking well, i just tested too early.
well about an hour ago i began bleeding. not heavy like i normally would with AF. it's bright red and at times turns very brown. this is n ot normal for me.
i should mention that i am NEVER early with AF. i did an injectable cycle with this IUI, but normally that even makes my cycles longer, not shorter.
i've tried to do some internet research on what this could be, i'm very nervous but i havent' found anything useful andi wouldn't be freaking out so much if i didn't think this just wasn't the norm for me
i called my dr. but as usual "he'll get back to you" (gotta love it)
so i expect to hear from him in OH a day or so.

Hi K,

I just wanted to let you know that like you, I have been TTC for 3 yrs. I did my first to IUI's with Clomid and this last IUI with injects. Anyways, I think the injects mess you up AF- wise. I had brown spotting all the way through to the IUI...it never went away. i was told it was due to the injects affecting the progesterone levels. MY AF this month was VERY different from normal as well. It came early and started with the brown and took 2 days to turn red- not my normal cycle.

I hope you get a BFP this cycle!!!!!!

thanks so much for your reply and thanks for sharing your story.
well i really hope you get your bfp soon too.
i did end up speaking to my dr.'s nurse who told me if the spotting stops today to come in for a beta.
otherwise, she feels that AF should arrive wed. since the IUI was on a wed. two weeks ago, she says they time it that way with the injections.
hmm never knew that. with my clomid cycles, i always got af a little late, that's how that messed with me. don't know if you had the same experience with that.
looks like for us the IUI thing is over, we have male issues as well and i think our next move is IVF. i'm pretty certain that even with the weird spotting today, that af will show soon and this cycle will be another bust.
ya know, we just have that gut feeling.

Both of my IUI's were with injectables and in both cases I started AF early. I am sorry - that is a very disappointing thing - please keep your hopes up!

Don't give up. Do as many IUI as your doctor will allow. Also, find out if you are a candidate for IVF. I was not due to my response to the injectibles Gonal F. I could not produce no more than 1 mature egg and little non-mature ones. I am also 43 years old - so age is a factor to what I am going through. I have hope and starting the donor egg program at the end of the month. Joan Lundon has 2 beautiful kids with donor eggs and her husband's sperm - so why can't I. Yes, she had a surrogate. Right now my lining is good for carrying the PG. So, I have hope and waiting for the donor.

Just don't give up until you exhausted all your options. Keep the faith, find the strength and most important don't let your emotions bring you down. Stay stress free as much as you could.
