Re: want to have a baby but my tubes are tied

kuppermama_3- i have 4 kids from previous relationships. now me and my hubby are going for ivf to have our own. he does not have any. we have done research for almost 3 years and decided on ivf. i had a tubal 7 years ago and i couldn't get a reversal done because my tubes are to short and i don't have the fimbriated ends. (that's what catches the eggs from the ovaries) now i'm glad we have chosen to do ivf because i've heard of alot of ladies getting a reversal and it not working and they have to do ivf anyways. we start our ivf this month and should have the actual procedure in may. good luck to you and your hubby!

Re: want to have a baby but my tubes are tied

kuppermama_3 - ivf is where they take your eggs and your hubbys seman and put them in a dish to fertilize or if there is male factors then they do icsi where they inject 1 sperm into your egg. ivf can be expensive but so is a reversal. some insurance covers ivf or a portion of it. some states have mandated insurances to cover it but not all states do. the first thing to do is check with your insurance for coverage. if they don't cover the ivf part then they might cover the testing like b/w or u/s. we are getting ready to do our first shot april 19.

Re: want to have a baby but my tubes are tied

I think you can have the tubes tieing reversed. I am almost positive that my SIL had this done like 3 years ago. She explained it to basically having another C section to reverse it. He has had a child since then also. She had 2 with her first husband and like you wanted a child/children with current hubby, so she had it reversed and she has a son that will be 2 in August and is trying for another now. Goodluck to you.
