You might remember me. I have 4 y.o daughter (conceived naturally during the first cycle) and since then have been ttc for more than a year, I'm 37. After delivery in 2001 I went on DepoProvera shots by my and my gyn's stupidity, gopt 3 shots and then stopped in 2002, tried for the next baby and got tubal pregnancy in 6 months after i went off of the Depo shots. I had an open surgery in 2002. In 2003 we didn't try ttc , I was busy studying and taking tests. Since January 2004 we have been ttc and nothing would happen. I forgot to say I have very regular periods, every 28 days. I had a few tests done (hsg, endo biopsy, cervical culture, bloodwork) and everything came out normal. My husband's sperm quality was fine except for motility, it was a bit low but the doctor said it's not a big issue, we can conceive naturally. I met a reproductive endocrinologist last September, just once and we talked about us and he offered injectables right away but first I had to have some tests done. I got the tests done but I didn't go back to my RE because I didn't wanna deal with the reproductive medicine, hormonal therapy. So I and my hubby had an acupuncture treatment for 2 months October-November, 2004 and then we stopped it , since we couldn't afford it anymore, insurance didn't pay, we spent $1200 out of our pocket. If you remember my posts about healthy lifestyle, exercizing, eating healthy, organic food, avoiding junk, drinking 1-2 cups of tea (loose tea), reducing an exposure to chemicals , so we've been doing all this stuff and plus an acupuncture. And all of a sudden I missed my period in March, 2005 and hpt came up positive. Yesterday I had my first appointment with my new gyn, ultrasound and I'm 9 weeks pregnant, the baby is in the right spot, in the uterus (I was afraid of getting ectopic pregnancy again). I remember, last year I was constantly thinking of getting pregnant and was stressed out which could delay ovulation, conception. After acupuncture I was very relaxed. Last cycle when we conceived I even didn't care about lying on my back after intercourse as i used to do last year 12 months in a row, we would have sex 6-7 times around my ovulation time and I would stay on my back with my legs up for 40 minutes and nothing happened.
During the cycle when we conceived the baby we had sex just twice and as soon as we were done I curled up and felt asleep. That what amazes me, that it doesn't matter if you moved or didn't move after intercourse.
All I wanna say that if you don't have any infertility issues, it's just a matter of time and first of all don't think about that, get rid of the stress, your body must be very relaxed and you will conceive.
