Medication costs? - Infertility Message Board

I was wondering if anyone could share the costs of their meds or IVF? My husband and I have to do IVF with ICSI and are trying to figure out how much we are going to have to save, and I keep seeing with meds additional, Im just wondering how much more.

Hi there, Meg! I have not doen IVF, just IUI and our was about $1000 per cycle meds. In the back of my mind I have thought that I better be prepared to double that cost for IVF because they give you so much more meds (usually more than one stim). I have heard anywhere from 2-3K - and I am in Texas. I have heard of people getting better deals in other places so who knows! Some even order their meds from Canada or Europe...but you can never be sure of the quality. I hope I have helped at all!

We have not had the IVF procedure, we are starting for our first IUI which was quoted at $600 including meds (Clomid only). We were told the next step would be IVF and were quoted $15,000-$20,000 (Wisconsin). This does not include the ICSI. That sounds like a lot. I don't know if is because my OBGyn does not do this procedur. If we had to do the IVF we would need to start working with the RE.

Gratefully, my insurance cover the whole IVF process and for meds I had to pay a co-pay which in total was $125. So I'm probably no help to you. Rounsy when are you starting you cycle?
