Clomid question

Hi! I had a question for anyone who takes Clomid. Here's my background - I am 28 years old and have been TTC for 2 1/2 years. I am fine, ovulate regularly and everything else. My husband has major sperm issues so we will be doing IVF with ICSI. Anyway, the doctor put me on Clomid this cycle in prep for IVF just to see how my body would respond to it. Since I had to take it, the dr. said it wouldn't hurt to try IUI one more time (4th). Here's my question - How many eggs does one usually have w/100 mg of Clomid? My dr. said my eggs were so big she couldn't believe I wasn't having cramps. I had 3 definate big ones and two smaller ones, but big for a small one if that makes sense. I didn't ask for the size measurements. Is 3-5 eggs normal, or do people usually have more? Thanks!

Re: Clomid question

Hey Heather6

I hope I can help you with that. I am 27 and have been TTC for 3 years now. MY hubby is fine and the only problem I have is my Left tube is blocked. So each month I take my Clomid (100mg) then on day 14 I get my ultrasound to show how my follicles look and to tell which tube I am ovulating from.
well this month I was told I had 3 that were size 20 and 2 small ones. but on my good tube I had 4 that were a size 18 and a couple small ones. so I ovulated from that tube.
From what my RE has told me the follicles must be a size 18 of larger to be able to implant.
I hope that helps you some what. So from what I have been told 5 is normal with clomid.
when they did my ultrasound when I wasn't on clomid I didn't have as many but to be honest it was so long ago I just can't remember how many

Re: Clomid question

Thanks for the reply. My doctor just called today and said my protocol for IVF was ready. I'm hoping we don't have to use it!

Re: Clomid question

I will start Clomid next month, if it doesn't work my spouse and I will go see a specialist, my husband has low mobiility in his sperm so far I am OK, but have not got to the points of tests for my tubes and so forth, I am wondering what side effects any of you have had, I will be starting 50mill 1st. How often are you having sex while taking the Clomid? everyday? We are trying but w/ our schedules it comes to be only 3-4 x per month on my most fertile days? Any suggestions?
