A question for my sister - Infertility Message Board

I was wondering, my sister has told me that her and her husbandcan not have children. For a long time they thought it was because of her. She had a deviated uterus and it was dipped? She had surgery to correct it. She had to reshape her uterus in order to hold a baby. She would be a very high risk pregnancy because they were not sure that if once pregnant, would she be able to carry to full term. Unfortunately, my BOL would be the ultimate reason why they can not concieve. He has ZERO sperm. As in, not producing ANY. So, they are back to square one. And contimplating adoption. My question is: Has anyone heard of this problem that my BOL has? No sperm? And is there anyway or chances that they would ever be able to have their own children. We are all ver supportive of her and any decision they make will be the right choice. I just want some advice so that I can be a better sister to her in trying to comfort her. Thank you

I can think of two options.

first is sounds like a Surragate mother might be the only uterus option.

Ejaculate without sperm isn't uncommon. I would see if there is anything that can be done. Corrective surgery, meds, I don't know. Men with vascecomies have ejaculate without sperm. Perhaps he's got a blocked vas deferns? Has he had himself checked out thoroughly?

If that works for him , then her egg and his sperm and a surrogate mother would be a good option. If no sperm, then donor sperm.

Explore all the options. I'm sure there are more than what I've mentioned.
